Trusting God to Do a New Thing , Even When You Can’t See it Yet
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” – Isaiah 43:19
Sometimes God gives you a word, a vision, or a deep knowing in your spirit; and you feel unstoppable. You get excited, start preparing, dreaming, praying…
But then? Nothing. Delay. Doubt. Silence.
If you've ever been in a season where God spoke something new over your life, but it hasn’t shown up yet, this post is for you.
When God Gives a Word... But You’re Still Waiting
I know what it’s like to have a God-sized vision. To hear clearly that He’s calling you to something greater. To get confirmation after confirmation.
To start walking by faith.
And then…
Weeks pass. Doors stay shut. You begin to question: “God, was that really You?”
That’s exactly where I’ve found myself, in the in-between.
God has spoken some powerful things over my life and my calling. But there have been so many days when I’ve cried out, “God, I believe You... but I don’t see anything changing.”
The Benefits of Trusting God Anyway
Here’s what I’ve learned in the waiting:
1. Trust Produces Endurance
Trusting God when things don’t make sense builds spiritual muscle.
We learn to walk by faith, not sight. And that kind of trust sticks, even when we’re tested.
“Let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete…” – James 1:4
2. Trust Builds Intimacy with God
It’s in the quiet places, in the waiting seasons, where our relationship with Him deepens.
He’s not just the promise-giver. He’s our companion in the process.
3. Trust Prepares You for the New Thing
God doesn’t give new assignments to old mindsets. Sometimes the delay is not denial; it’s preparation.
He’s preparing you for the thing, and the thing for you.
4. Trust Breaks Control & Releases Peace
When you fully surrender, you stop striving. You stop forcing.
You lean into the flow of grace, knowing that what God starts, He finishes.
5. Trust Activates the Promise
Sometimes the release comes after we stop wrestling. Trust is the posture that says: “Even if I don’t see it today; I still believe You, God.”
My Personal Reminder (and Yours Too)
There are days I still wrestle with discouragement. I wonder if I misheard God. I wonder if I’m doing enough. I wonder why it’s taking so long.
But every time I return to His presence, I’m reminded:
He didn’t bring me this far to leave me now. He is doing a new thing, even when I can’t see it yet. And if He said it, He will bring it to pass.
Scripture to Hold On To
“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion…” – Philippians 1:6
“For still the vision awaits its appointed time... If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come.” – Habakkuk 2:3
“I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” – Isaiah 43:19
Final Encouragement
Sis, if you’re in the middle of the “not yet”, don’t let the silence convince you that God has forgotten.
He’s working behind the scenes. He’s building your faith. He’s aligning the right doors and protecting you from the wrong ones. The new thing is coming.
So breathe. Trust again. Take the next small step. Because even now; He is doing something new in you.
