Looking Back: God Has Been Faithful Through Every Season
This past weekend as I visited my old college campus, I found myself reflecting on my life, specifically on the challenges I faced more than 10 years ago. At that time, those problems felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders. I remember the stress, the tears, and the countless nights wondering if God really saw me.
But here I am today, looking back, realizing those same problems that once consumed me seem so small now. What felt like the end of the world back then is now just a reminder of how faithful God has been.
God Has Always Seen Me
Even in my lowest moments, God was there. What amazes me is that even when I didn’t fully understand His presence, He still knew me. He saw every tear, every worry, every moment I thought I couldn’t make it through. And just like He carried me then, I’m reminded that He will carry me through what’s concerning me now.
Jeremiah 1:5 reminds us of this truth: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” What a powerful promise to know that even before we knew Him, He already knew us.
Faith for the Present
Thinking back on how God brought me through those past struggles gives me the strength to trust Him with the challenges I face today. If He was faithful then, He will be faithful now. He has never left me, and He won’t leave you either.
Isaiah 46:4 says, “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”
That means the same God who carried me through yesterday’s battles is the same God carrying me today. And that is where my hope rests.
Encouragement for You
Sister, I want to encourage you: whatever you’re facing right now, no matter how heavy it feels, trust that one day you’ll look back and see that God was working it out for your good. Those prayers you’re lifting up today are not falling on deaf ears. God hears you. He sees you. And He is faithful to carry you through.
When the weight feels unbearable, lean into His presence. Remember His track record in your life. If He carried you before, He will do it again.
As Romans 8:28 reminds us: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Hold onto that truth this week: God is working in every season—even when you can’t see it yet.
